BASELINE RD

dusk-time wanders...

Story by Filip Prochazka February 14th, 2017

So I live in Tempe, Arizona now. I'm sharing an apartment with my beautiful friend Annie and ever since we've moved here I've been hoping I could take advantage of her enigmatic look to create a short editorial. We both quite fell in love with this place, and with the mysteriously captivating light of the desert. It shines strong and bright during the daytime, casting long and sharp shadows on the sun bleached ground, but it is the early evenings, when the light gets truly impressive. On the east the blue sky darkens whilst on the far west the colors gradually fade to various shades of yellows and reds, creating calm and subtle scenery dominated by the ubiquitous silhouettes of the palm trees. So whenever the sun sets bellow the horizon and the air cools down a bit, we like to go for a walk and just wander down the solitary streets of the neighborhood. Or, sometimes, we would just follow the nearby city canal towards the constantly traffic-congested Baseline Road. This time I took my camera with me to finally capture the unique spirit of my friend Annie as well as the beauty of this place.
